I bought my first set of Saladmaster cutlery approx. 15 years ago.

to the tune of about $1500.00. Loved the knives. In 2013 the serrated knives became dull, so I sent them back to be sharpened, but was told they didn't sharpen serrated knives, and they no longer carried my original knives, but would replace the knives I sent to be sharpened with knives from them with their new knives. Since the new knives would not match, I was given the option to return ALL of my old knives and they would send me a replacement set for $175.00.

The new knives are not worth a ***!!!! They will not stay sharpened, have sent back a paring knife and boning knife to be replaced, but have not received a replacement yet as they are being reviewed by the warranty dept.

I hate the day I sent all my old knives back for replacement. WARNING......DO NOT buy the new cutlery!!!!!

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

Saladmaster Pros: Love the cookware.

Saladmaster Cons: Hate the cutlery.

Location: Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Like my Chicago Cutlery from the 70s and 80s, I will never buy new items. I remarried and my new wife had Saladmaster.

When I needed an addition item, I checked on sites selling used items to find vintage items that were quality made.

Chicago Cutlery is nothing now but a label for Chinese made junk. I hope to never need to replace anything from our Saladmaster cookware and cutlery for fear of chinese junk only having the old name.
